before 10am on that day of camp.
All orders should be submitted directly to Cranium Clubhouse
so we can ensure correct staffing, food and delivery to your
child. Please try to submit orders for lunch in advance and
absolutely no latter then 10am on that day of camp.
Packed lunches should be placed in an insulated lunch
bag to ensure freshness.
SNACK OPTIONS (included in
cost):
Cranium Clubhouse provides a light snack in both the morning
and later afternoon which include drinks. The snacks are included
at no additional cost.
Snacks can vary
per day and may include any of the following: Cheezit’s,
pretzels, animal crackers, oatmeal cookies, mini-carrots,
graham crackers.
If your child has food allergies
or dietary restraints, please provide lunch and snacks if
necessary.
What programs are including
during camp?
All CORE summer camps include portions of the CraniumHONORS
(reading and math), CraniumGYM, CraniumEXPLORERS (critical
foundation learning skills), and CraniumART programs throughout
the week. Each program area will incorporate the theme of
the week. Holiday, Mini-camps and special camps do not include
the CraniumHONORS (reading and math) program and kids are
not pre-tested for those camps.
Will my child be assessed
before starting camp?
Applicable for any CORE summer camp: All children in Kindergarten
through 5th grade will be assessed prior to the start of camp
in Reading and Math so we know what skills to work on with
them during the CraniumHONORS portion of camp. A teacher will
speak with the parents of all children younger than Kindergarten
age so we can get an idea of the skills the child is working
on or has mastered.
What if my child is
not potty trained? What if my child still takes a nap?
If your child is not potty trained, they are eligible to attend
the half day camps. Please have your child wear a pull-up
and bring a change of clothes and extra pull-ups to camp with
them. If your child still takes a nap and will be attending
the full day camps, please let the staff know. Your child
will have the opportunity to go into the quiet room to rest
after lunch if they need to.
What happens if my
child is unable to attend a week of camp that we have already
paid for?
If you know your child will not be attending camp on or before
30 calendar days before the child’s first camp, the
parent can send a written notification to cancel camp enrollment
and receive a refund less ten percent (10%) of the tuition
fee (no refunds of registration fee). Within 30 days before
the start of camp, there will be the potential of the above
refund if we are able to fill your child’s spot (no
refund if the spot is not filled). Please speak with the office
staff about extenuating circumstances and the possibility
of moving your child to another, available, week of camp.
Does my child need
to bring anything with them to camp?
Most days your child will not need to bring anything to camp
with them. Some special events may require a change of clothes
or other item. Please be on the look out for notes being sent
home by your child’s camp teacher. If you child is coming
to extended or full day camps then lunch must be provided
and brought or purchased (see camp webpage for more information).
Will my 3 year old
be in the same class as the 9 year olds?
Based on the number of children in a camp, the children will
be broken up into several smaller groups based on their birthdays
so they are always with children that are their age.
Who teaches camp?
All of our camp teachers are specially trained to teach our
unique classes. Teachers, usually begin as a 3rd teacher in
a classroom. As they have proven they are ready to be an assistant,
they will be moved up and begin to train to be a lead teacher.
From there they will work their way up to being a lead teacher
in a class. All teachers have an educational background, with
varying degrees of schooling and are background checked. Most
of our camp teachers teach preschool or after-school classes
with us during the school year. |
